Haiti - CEP : Access forbidden for Enel Jean Désire
In the press release #92, Gaillot Dorsinvil, President of the Provisional Electoral Council recalls that the Adviser Jean Enel Désir had submitted his resignation to the President of the Republic by letter dated August 16, 2010, a copy of the correspondence was forwarded to the administration of CEP. The Council wishes to clarify for the public in general and the press in particular, that the attempt for regain his function of the former Councillor Desire, which is the subject to prosecution for corruption, seeks to undermine the legitimate operation of the Council and to impair the integrity, both physical and moral of its members.

Consequently, electoral advisers have decided to formally prohibit access to the premises of the institution concerned, especially as the latter circulates accompanied by armed men and is also armed.

The Provisional Electoral Council recalled that since his resignation Mr Desire is no longer entitled to intervene or act on behalf of the Institution. The Provisional Electoral Council was thought useful to make this development so that no one ignores and reiterates its determination to complete the electoral process.
